This week, week 16, has been interesting. Despite two biopsies on my tonsil, the pregnancy has never been better.
Last night I attended a "Taste of Home" event with my mother-in-law and amidst one of the cooking demonstrations, I felt something in my stomach. It was such a quick moment but one that will stand in time. Many would call it “quickening” or a “flutter,” but I’d best compare it to a gerbil running quickly or butterflies migrating through my tummy.
What a moment! Finally, the pregnancy is real. ;)
Later that evening, Tim and I put our hands on my belly and if we sat still, we could feel my tummy move in the slightest fashion. Baby A is growing so quickly!
The other development is this "baby bump." No wait, let's clarify. The look I am currently sporting is something more of a baby "belly" than "bump." A bump was noticeable a week or two ago. By now, it is an ever-changing, continuously-growing part of my body. This week, I have photos to prove it. ;)
I am eating meat again, cooking more than ever, and loving this second trimester. Once my good results come back from my biopsies, life will be better than ever.
You know, maybe I had this all wrong. The first trimester was absolutely the most nauseating and difficult phases of pregnancy, but now that the second trimester is upon us, maybe this isn’t so bad after all. ;)
